Rhythm Rally

Flight School returned to the U.S. Open in 2026 with a new experience: Rhythm Rally.

By layering the easy-to-learn but difficult-to-master mechanic of classic games such as Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution onto the inherent rhythm present in the best and most intense tennis rallies, we created an experience that manifested the best of both worlds. Or at least that’s what we thought.

…and Fan Experience attendees agreed!

Concentric circle queues for ingress and and egress around a central octagon allowed for smooth, efficient access. And guests passed the time waiting by watching and planning their strategy on the way to one of seven game bays.

Built in Unity with Vive trackers attached to special racquets, the fidelity of control and freedom of movement afforded by this approach resulted in packed booths, spontaneous dancing between swings, and smiles all around.

Created in collaboration with experiential agency Momentum Worldwide, Rhythm Rally was by all accounts the hit of the AMEX Fan Experience at the 2026 U.S. Open.
